A perspective voice coaching client asked me this on a discovery call a couple of months ago. I said: “yes, that’s a big component of what I do in private voice coaching sessions!”
As a vocal coach, the main thing I want my clients to feel is love for their voice and if not love, airtight acceptance.
Voice Confidence can be challenging, can’t it?
I began to toy with the concept of Radical Voice Love in 2020, when the Covid 19 pandemic started running rampant and artists started doubting themselves more than ever. (Remember when the WHOLE arts industry shut down?)
There was an ache in my clients’ voices as they shared their grief with me.
Their livelihoods, corrupted.
Their passions, stifled.
One said to me “ I don’t trust my voice right now, I feel like there’s so much outside pressure to stifle it”
OOOOUF, right in the ticker.
So, the idea of Radical Voice Love was born.
Radical Voice Love is where we stop doubting our voices and start loving them radically. Unconditionally.
Here’s a list of what voice confidence and radical voice love are:
We implicitly trust the sounds and words that come out of our mouths.
We build confidence by showing courage and showing up for ourselves.
We sing and speak our truth, even if our voice shakes. Especially then.
We slay fear through embodied voice practices.
We welcome all sounds as good sounds.
We overturn cultural narratives that say we should be silent.
Radical voice love is singing and speaking truth with confidence and empowered purpose.
Radical voice love is setting boundaries and speaking from your core truth and values.
Radical voice love is worthiness to share our truth.
Your own Radical Voice Love Revolution begins with the desire to own your voice, and following that inner knowing that you have something important to sing or say.
If you follow that, the rest will take care of itself.
Voice and confidence coaching for singers, truth speakers and entrepreneurs.
